Event Details

Dear Colleagues,

Just recently I had the opportunity  to work with a small group of managers from a large, international organization. We brainstormed on an organizational issue (how to meet customer demands for lower costs and still maintain quality) and got good results using traditional methods. But I decided to take a risk and suggested we look at the next set of issues using a method that would draw upon the tacit knowledge of the group. Tacit knowledge is the knowledge we don't know we know. We draw upon it intuitively.  It is not something we measure as facts and figures.  We did two constellations; one around how to implement a major change in policy and the other how to get buy-in to a new strategy. Resistance to both the new policy and strategy was expected. The managers were very excited by the OC process and insights that emerged. I was delighted to see their openness to trying something very different from their usual way of doing business. Thanks to current events, perhaps, people in the business world are more ready than we might expect to open up to new ideas and methods.

We had a great February meeting in Washington DC and we did a lot of interesting constellaton work on the organizational and professional challenges the participants were facing. Our April meeting should be exciting as we continue to deepen our understanding of this work.  I look forward to seeing you there. As usual we'll have some new start up activities about OC, but will get the most out of "real time" work place challenges people bring to the meeting. See you on the18 th of April.

Here is our elevator speech:

Do you have a challenging client or a client with a challenging situation? Are you are looking for insights on how to best deal with the current issues in your work? Do you need to choose from a range of options? Do you have to make a critical decision that impacts the future of your company or your career? If any of the above questions are true, you may find the Organizational Constellation process to be particularly useful. Come join the practice and support SIG on OC. Come as a guest to work on your professional issue or business challenge or come as an OD consultant interested in learning more about this new, cutting edge tool. The first part of the meeting we will do one or two demonstration constellations, the second part we will work with the current business or professional challenges participants bring to the group.

PS, If you donate for snacks you don't need to register since it will show you are coming.
Please register so we have a head count on how many to expect.
Many thanks for pitching in a few bucks. Usually. I'll pick up some water, fruit, cookies
and something with chocolate.
